Covington Aircraft Presents the “Children’s Aviation Art Contest” & Sponsors KidVenture just in time for Oshkosh 2015!

Covington Aircraft is pleased to sponsor KidVenture at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 and the “Children’s Aviation Art Contest!” Entries for this year’s contest will be accepted from July 1 through August 14, 2015. All entrants must create an aviation-themed drawing on a standard 8.5” by 11” sheet of blank paper. All children must be 12-years-old, or younger; however, children under 5-years-old may print out and color the Covington King Air Coloring Page.

After completing the artwork, submit a digital picture of the piece via any social media site with #CovingtonAviationArt2015. The top 12 entries, determined by popular vote, will be selected for publication in the 2016 Children’s Aviation Art Calendar! In fact, children may also enter the contest by visiting Booth #3 in the KidVenture pavilion, where Covington Aircraft’s staff will be answering questions and encouraging tomorrow’s aviation experts during the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015!

What Is KidVenture?

Sponsored by Covington Aircraft, KidVenture is located directly across from the AirVenture Museum at Pioneer Airport. Covington Aircraft wants to encourage more young people to consider a career in aviation as a future engineer, pilot, mechanic, enthusiast, or any other aspect of the Soaring Industrial Field! Covington Aircraft will be promoting aviation and fostering tomorrow’s aviation minds at Booth #3 in the Wittman Hanger this year during the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 as part of KidVenture!

Get Credit In Real Flight Simulators!

Additionally, young people can take part in a real flight simulation with loggable hours of flight instruction or receive FAA credit towards becoming an Aviation Mechanic (A&P). They will also learn how to fly a radio-controlled airplane, which is a totally different experience from flying popular “drones.” Afterwards, young minds will take control and modify an aircraft’s wing through a computer simulation to see how well their design flies. To really take the KidVenture’s AirVenture “out-of-this-world,” they can then see what it will be like to land on Mars through the Dream Flight Space Bus.

Start Learning About Engineering and Aviation!

As part of KidVenture, eight different A&P booths teach basic aviation skills and offer Condor Flight Simulations and Kiddie Hawk Fight Training sessions. Booths include instruction on riveting techniques, engine mechanics, electronic troubleshooting, prop-shaping, wooden wing rib building, lift demonstration, and creation of a wind-powered generator. However, youth can also gain immeasurable experience in the Young Eagles Flight Education area on aviation regulations, weather considerations, navigation, human coordination efforts, air traffic control, aircraft design, pre-flight inspection, post-flight debriefing, and the above-mentioned flight simulation activities.

AirVenture Oshkosh 2015: July 20-26, 2015. Where Will You Be?

At Covington Aircraft, we want the AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 to be a fun, memorable event for your whole family. We know that preparing for a career in aviation is exciting, and you may need some help in answering your children’s questions. So, let us be the ones to help make your child’s dreams a reality as part of KidVenture 2015. Each young mind at KidVenture is an investment in the future of aviation, and we want to help the next generation SOAR!
